Cookie Butter Puppy Chow
This classic Midwestern treat is revamped with spiced cookie butter instead of peanut butter and white chocolate instead of milk chocolate. I wanted to bring something to my Christmas this year that would be familiar to people but also exciting and new. If you love cookie butter, which can be found at Trader Joe’s, Amazon, and other specialty stores, then you will absolutely love this. Try this out and impress your Midwest friends (and non-Midwest friends) alike!
Prep Time: 2 minutes | Cook Time: 10 minutes
Serves: quite a lot of people
Ingredients:
2 cups white chocolate chips
1 cup creamy cookie butter (I use the Biscoff brand)
18 cups rice Chex cereal (1 family-size box)
3 cups powdered sugar
Method:
Melt the white chocolate chips in a large Dutch oven over low heat, stirring until smooth.
Stir in the cookie butter and mix until smooth.
Remove from heat. Stir in the rice cereal gently until it is fully coated in the cookie butter-white chocolate sauce.
Add the powdered sugar to a large resealable container (like Tupperware) and place your coated cereal on top. Close the container and shake it until the puppy chow is all coated in the sugar. You will want to shake for 15-30 seconds.
Enjoy! This keeps in an airtight container at room temperature for about a week.
